Old cell phones with chargers can be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office or Office for Older Adults in Medina.  The phones are then cleaned, tested and issued to Senior Citizens in Medina County for 911 Emergency calling only. These phones do not have normal cell phone service. The only phone number they can dial is 911.   The phones are meant for seniors who can not afford cell phone service and who need a way to call for help in case of an emergency.  The phones are not just for seniors who travel, but are also useful for seniors in and around their home.  Many keep the phone charged and in a pocket in case they should fall and require emergency assistance.

When donating a phone please remove all personal data.  Please include the charger and  place them in a bag together so they do not become separated.  Donation letters are available from the Office for Older Adults if you drop off your phones there.
