* Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Coalition
* Medina County Safe Communities
* A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) Program within our
local schools
* Walk-throughs at Medina Community Action Daycare and Medina Job and Family
Services to suggest safety tips for their facilities

Explorers
In 2018 Medina Township Police Department, Montville Police Department, Medina County
Park District, and the Medina County Sheriff’s Office have joined to become a multi-agency
Explorer Post for Medina County.
In April of 2018, Explorers competed at the Annual Explorer Competition which was held at
the Medina County Career Center in Medina, Ohio. In attendance were over 200 registered
Explorers from around the state of Ohio.
Competitions included the following:
* Arrest & Search
* Active Shooter
* Officer Down First Aid
* Traffic Stops
Sponsors included:

* Dominic’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant
* Eat’nPark
* Aramark
* Buehler’s
* Medina Walmart
* 5-18 Clue Lodi
* Medina Target
* Firestorm Gear
Our Explorer Post placed first place in Officer Down and First Aid. They placed second in
Traffic Stops. One of the Explorers from our post took first place in Air Soft Pistols (an individually
scored event).
Some of the community service projects our Explorer Post assisted with include:
* the Sheriff’s K-9 Unit at the Pet-Tacular Pet Adoption Event
* helping senior citizens at the Medina County Fair
* Safety Town for children with developmental disabilities
* parking at the Montville’s Spooky Walk and Pioneers in the Park with the Medina
County Park District
* running four sessions of Bootcamp at the Lodi Family Center
* the Shop with a Cop Event |
