General Visitation Policies and Instructions


All persons entering this institution are reminded that conveying or attempting to convey drugs, weapons, money or any type of contraband into this facility is a violation of Ohio Law Sections 2921.36 and 2921.37


  • Only visitors on the approved visiting list are permitted to visit.  Proper photo identification (Driver's License, State I.D. Card) must be shown upon request.
  • If you are a parolee / probationer, you must provide the following documents, or you will be in violation of Department Policy.
        A.) Written authorization from your parole / probation officer.
        B.) Written authorization from the Jail Administrator, via a Kite.
  • Visitors are not permitted to give or receive any articles from an inmate without prior expressed permission from the Jail Administrator via a Kite.
  • Loud, disruptive or inappropriate behavior by visitors, including children, is grounds for termination of the visit.
  • Staff have the authority to seat visitors or inmates at their discretion.
  • Visitors are expected to wear appropriate attire.  The officer has the right to deny visiting for inappropriate attire.
        A) No see-through or tight fitting clothing.
        B) No shorts for men or women, (shorts will be permitted for children under 12 years of age.)
        C) No skirts or dresses higher than the middle of the knee.
        D) No clothing with gang/club insignia or obscene gestures and or language.
        E) No tank tops, tube tops or muscle shirts and no bare midriffs.
        F) Shoes and shirts must be worn.
        G) Appropriate undergarments must be worn (example: bra, slip and underwear).
  • Any other attire found to be potentially disruptive or offensive may result in the termination of the visit.
  • Parents are responsible for the conduct and safety of their children.  Disruptive behavior by children is grounds for termination of the visit.
  • Visitors and inmates will keep their feet off of the wall and no stacking of chairs.
  • No form of food or candy is permitted in the visitation room.
  • One phone is to be used per inmate and visitors.


Any violation of written policy is subject to termination of the visit.
