Unfortunately today we are witnessing more violence and unusual events occurring in our places of worship. Because of this, we are planning a training seminar to assist the leaders of churches and synagogues on how to address safety issues facing them today. We will use a PowerPoint presentation to address issues you may face at your place of worship. We will also show you how to evaluate your own local facility for safety.
Various issues of safety will be discussed, including sexual predators attending your church service, domestic violence within your membership, and how to handle child custody disputes between separated church members or visitors. A safety reference manual will be provided to each church for you to use in your own evaluation.
This training seminar will be provided by the Medina County Sheriff's Office at no cost to you. The presentation will be held at the Medina Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, April 10, 2010, from 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. The church is located south of Medina on State Route 3 at Autumn Run Dr. The church address is 6901 Wooster Pike, Medina, Ohio 44256. Refreshments will be provided.
Please contact Sgt. Bev Fraser at (330) 764-3618 or by email to bfraser@medinaco.org to register the number of attendees from your church. The deadline to register is April 02, 2010. This training is not a physical self-defense class, but a program to help you evaluate your own facility so you can provide a safe environment for those attending your worship services.
Together we can make a difference by planning for a safe environment for our worship services. I look forward to seeing you on April 10, 2010! Sincerely, |
